Of all the elegant rooms in the Castle of Villebrumier, the most magnificent is the Grand Salon, with its solemn fireplace guarded by the two “Sphinges”. It is an ideal location for song recitals, chamber music concerts and other musical events.
Look at the painting in the center of the wall above the fireplace: do you notice anything special?
… Above the fireplace, what you see is not a painting! It is a mirror, which reflects part of the magnificent ceramic ceiling by Gaston Virebent, inspired by a motif of the grand ceiling of the Paris Opera. The entire Grand Salon is decorated by magnificent Virebent ceramics.
